High Polygon 3D Modeling
Usually we try to keep the poly count as low as possible, but when
the requirements are for high detail modeling, be it for broadcast
animation, normal-map generation, solid-model prototyping, etc, we're
capable. ZBrush sculpting, polygonal, NURBS, we'll effectively utilize
whatever tools are needed to get the job done.
Low Polygon 3D Modeling
It may not be intuitive, but low polygon modeling can
actually take more time than high polygon modeling.
Reducing poly-counts in the modeling process takes more
forethought and attention to detail.
The resulting models; however, can take a small
fraction of the time to render - this is the big
benefit of low poly modeling, and one we try to
capitalize on whenever possible.
Well executed low poly models can look just
as convincing to the eye, the trick is using
the polygons where they're needed most, eliminating
any that don't contribute to the realism of the model,
and most important of all - quality UVW texture mapping.
While it's possible to produce quality 3D art
without conventional art skills, starting with
a foundation in traditional art is a big advantage.
Our focus is 3D, but we're happy to put our 2D art
skills to work whenever there's an opportunity.
